Something Beautiful
Imagine there was a roaring flame
Sounding like a choir
The frozen wind blows against the crimson fire
As it burns the day returns
Through twilight into night
Something beautiful is here tonight
Imagine there was a golden field
Around the bend
The golden strands blowing in the winter wind
As they flow it starts to snow
The gold turns into white
Something beautiful is here tonight
Imagine there was a bleeding heart
Beating again
The blood and warm tears fall down like acid rain
As it tries to revitalize
Itself within its plight
Something beautiful is here tonight
Imagine you were beneath the waves
Wild and free
The coral caves shining in the sapphire sea
As you soar within the world
Your underwater flight
Something beautiful is here tonight
Imagine one day your best friend died
Way before her time
Gone too soon but she's in a better life
As she flies above the sky
In heavenly delight
Something beautiful is here tonight
Imagine you saw a woman smile
Brighter than the stars
Knows true lov

Introduction to Sonic: The Series
Hey everyone! Let me start off by saying thanks for checking this little series out! I've never been much of a writer, but life's been so dang boring lately, I'm starting to look for anything to keep me busy. Plus Sal says I should spend more time doing reading and writing stuff, it's more "king-ish" than always looking for trouble. Then again, I suppose I'm not the same hedgehog I used to be. I've grown up. It's 3255, I'm 35 years old, I'm king of the world, I've got way cool 17-year-old twins, I'm married to my best friend, and my enemy, Dr. Robotnik, is finally history! …oh, right. I'm Sonic. Royal custom says I should introduce myself formally and such, but all that title stuff makes my skin crawl. I'm just good ol' Sonic, at your service!
I've pretty much spent my entire life being a world-saving hero. I lost my family to Robotnik when I was 6, and from 8 on I kept kickin' his Robo-butt until I kicked it to the great bot compactor in the sky three years

Chapter 1: My First Adventure With Tails
Based on the episode of Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog:
The Super Special Sonic Search and Smash Squad
Chapter 1: My First Adventure With Tails
We'll begin this part of the book with the day Tails and I were exploring the hills north of Robotropolis. Julayla had finally trusted us enough to be out on our own, as long as we weren't stupid about anything, of course. But when have I ever been stupid? I guess some questions don't have legitimate answers.
It had been about a month or so since Sally and I trashed Scrap Brain. Ol' Buttnik was still pouting about it, and I guess I'd traumatized him so much he got really clumsy for a few months. I mean, what intelligent guy would send bots like Scratch and Grounder against me and Tails on a regular basis? He didn't spend as much time in Robotropolis at this point; he was always out to get me. He just wanted me out of the picture more than anything, even if it meant tracking me down, terrorizing a random village, or even sending dopey

Chapter 1: Chili Dogs Cure Victory Hangovers
It must have been weeks since Eggman disappeared. Long, boring weeks. I'd tried the whole politician diplomat thing, and sure it gave me something to do, but it just wasn't me. I was 19 years old, I'd just won the biggest war the world had ever seen, and I was the most famous Mobian in the history of time. Yep, life had been pretty crazy. Obviously you probably know at this point by reading the last few chapters what all had been going down: there was the whole Master Emerald experience, Knux and I helping the Mario Bros. out, and the big Super Sonic and Super Sally fight against Metal Robotnik.
Now here I was, sitting in an office, filing through government papers. With no Robuttnik to kick, I couldn't really do the hero thing anymore. It was the first time I could remember having what I've come to know as a "victory hangover:" when you win a great battle, then long after it's over, you feel kind of empty inside. You h

I Need You (Can You Hear Me)
I need you, I need your words
I need your love and life
To overflow my world
I need you, I need your love
I need someone to show me
What's beyond the sky above
Please come down and show me
What I'm doing wrong
Why she can't just leave me
What's left in that song?
Lord I know you've seen it
You know that I've tried
Help me end the nightmare
And teach me how to fly
Can you hear me?
Can you hear me?
Can you hear me?
I need you now
I need you, I need your time
Can I get an answer
Can I get a reason why
I need you, I need your grace
Can you lead my footsteps
And get me out of this place?
Please come down and show me
What I'm doing wrong
Why she can't just leave me
What's left in that song?
Lord I know you've seen it
You know that I've tried
Help me end the nightmare
And teach me how to fly
Can you hear me?

Can you hear me?

With the hands to point in my life
Can you take a broken soul
Can you end this nightmarish strife
Will you exile the fantasmic

The Princess of Tomorrow (Beyond My Dreams)
Long ago away from home
Away from everyone I'd known
In a brand new phase of life
There would be a new surprise
Through the sadness and despair
The way from here to there
From dying to the arms of one who cares
From darkness of my yesterday
To a bright new world
From an empty human shell
To following a girl
Singing princess of tomorrow
Echoes in the night
Once a figment of my dreams
Become an earthly sight
Longing dearly to be more
Than only fantasy
Someday we will fall in love
Out there beyond my dreams
God was with her in a way
She always knew just what to say
I just want to hold your hand
Want to tell you but I can't
Will you play another song
And let your sweet voice ring
Promise not to change
The way you sing
Mesmerizing are your eyes
All night and day
Something in you draws me close
I cannot stay away
Smiling princess of tomorrow
Dances in the light
She is so admirable
The way her blue eyes shine
Longing dearly to be more
Than only fantasy
Someday we will fall in love
Out there b

Roger Waters
When you believed in rock and roll
You sang about your tortured soul
How to expose and how to grieve
Well did you find something to believe?
Did you find that limelight
And take it all in stride
Or did you find a fierce fright
And hide away inside?
Did you show your dark side
And write narrative songs
Or did you think you might be wrong?
You said someday we would find
A way to reach the sun
Just behind the moon you'd see me
Always on the run
We'll get high when pigs can fly
Saying goodbye to the sky
Hey Roger what was your idea
What was your concept, your worldview
What was your plan for humankind
What transpired in your gifted mind
Was it human fallacy that
Drove you to your knees
Did your inner lunatic
Let off a rattling scream
Was it your three best friends
That stabbed you in the back
Or was it you that made the attack?
You said someday we would find
A way to reach the sun
Just behind the moon you'd see me
Always on the run
We'll get high when pigs can fly

Interests
I kind of figured I wouldn't get any feedback on my last journal since I've never really submitted anything worth while. But I'm going to send in parts of a fan-made Sonic story and see if anything happens.

It's a long story about the hedgehog himself, told from his point of view. I've found it more comfortable to write in first-person, and when a story is told by Sonic, it's always that much more fun to write. I can worry less about all the word-painting, visual imagery most authors spend their entire lives developing, but when I'm in the mind of Sonic, I can just relax and write in a carefree way. Maybe that's part of why I'm such a huge fan of the character.

Each of these pieces will be in chapter form, and told by a grown-up Sonic. As he's writing, he's 35, married to Sally Acorn, King of the world, and father of teenage twins. All of his enemies have either made a run for it or been defeated, leaving him with nothing to really fight. So one day, an idea comes up, "Oh, hey! I'll write a book about my life!"

That's the premise of this whole project. We'll see if it gets me anywhere.
