I kind of figured I wouldn't get any feedback on my last journal since I've never really submitted anything worth while. But I'm going to send in parts of a fan-made Sonic story and see if anything happens.

It's a long story about the hedgehog himself, told from his point of view. I've found it more comfortable to write in first-person, and when a story is told by Sonic, it's always that much more fun to write. I can worry less about all the word-painting, visual imagery most authors spend their entire lives developing, but when I'm in the mind of Sonic, I can just relax and write in a carefree way. Maybe that's part of why I'm such a huge fan of the character.

Each of these pieces will be in chapter form, and told by a grown-up Sonic. As he's writing, he's 35, married to Sally Acorn, King of the world, and father of teenage twins. All of his enemies have either made a run for it or been defeated, leaving him with nothing to really fight. So one day, an idea comes up, "Oh, hey! I'll write a book about my life!"

That's the premise of this whole project. We'll see if it gets me anywhere.
